Meet Hometime's People and Culture Lead: Kath Mendoza
This week we’re spotlighting our People & Culture Lead, Kath Mendoza. Read on to learn more about what makes Kath tick.
Where are you based?
I’m based in Quezon City, Metro Manila but my childhood home is in Batangas - just a few minutes away from the beautiful beaches.
What does a typical day of work look like?
I would normally spend my day interviewing and meeting applicants across the globe as Hometime has a diverse workforce. The best part of my job is extending job offers and welcoming the new hires to the team. Apart from that, I make sure to keep everyone engaged by organising team events, which is pretty awesome!
What are some of Hometime’s values you connect with that drew you to the role:
I had several interviews during my application and I felt that Hometime has a very warm and welcoming culture. I love the transparency, and inclusivity and didn’t feel any barriers at all.
How do you unwind?
I spend most of my spare time with my family and my fur baby, named Nami. I also love to sing! I recently received a speaker as a gift and now I have my own Karaoke set-up at home. On the weekends you’ll find me baking my most requested goodies, chocolate chip cookies and banana muffins. When I have the time, I love to travel to local tourist destinations in the Philippines and enjoy the pristine beaches.
What is one thing people don’t know about you that may surprise them?
I love musicals! Les Misérables is my all-time favourite.
What podcast are you listening to?
I am currently listening to Superhuman with Wil Dasovich - one of my favourite content creators. The podcast is about his guests’ experiences and how to live a more adventurous, free and fulfilling life.
What excites you about life?
I am happy and content with where I am right now when I think about how I was 5 years ago. I am excited to discover more places with my family and loved ones. Professionally, I would love to see Hometime grow and be a part of the success journey.
