This week we’re spotlighting our Operations Finance Lead, Tanya Quinto. Read on to learn more about what makes Tanya tick, what she gets up to outside work and what she loves about Hometime.

Where are you based?

I’ve lived most of my life in the city but for about a decade, I have lived here in the mountainous, Southern part of Luzon Philippines. We love it here because the air is fresher and there is lots of greenery. It’s a perfect location if you love the quiet and a good view of nature.

What does a typical day of work look like?

My day starts with cuddle-time with my 5-year-old son because as soon as I start working, I am always 110% focused until the end of the day. I then check emails, our Slack channel and any tickets that need urgent attention. I then do the tasks I need to complete for the day/week. I also handle training with our Hosting Partners to provide a better understanding of the financial reports. I enjoy the hustle and bustle of the finance world. Being able to attend to the needs of and provide support to both internal and external customers gives me great satisfaction and happiness.

What are some of Hometimes’ values you connect with that drew you to the role?

Working with Hometime is like working with your family. From day one, I never felt that I was miles away from the management. Everyone has shown nothing but wholehearted trust and support. This is the company where you don’t have to hide who you are and pretend to be someone else just to be liked by your colleagues. All you need to be is yourself!

How do you unwind?

After a hectic day, I usually spend time playing with my son or just simply watching him do funny antics and Youtube creations. I also binge-watch Netflix movies and shows. We love looking up new places to go to on weekends and if time permits, we explore these places – most often, a new restaurant or a campsite somewhere near home.

What is one thing people don’t know about you that may surprise them?

I was a vocalist of a band and we sang at events like weddings and parties. I am scared of lizards – I freeze when I see one.

What podcast are you listening to/what book are you currently reading?

I am not a fan of podcasts or books. I do love to watch court case shows like Suits, Drop Dead Diva and How to Get Away with Murder.

What gets you excited about life?

Being able to see my son grow with so much wit every single day while being able to provide for what he needs is something I feel blessed to do. Knowing that what I do, work-wise, is very valuable and contributes to the success of the company, gives me that motivation.
